The ERS academies in adult and paediatric respiratory medicine will feature a hybrid format for the first time since before the start of the Covid-19 pandemic when they take place this summer. Both the paediatric and the adult academies will consist of two parts, with part one taking place online from 27–29 June, and part two taking place in Milan, Italy on 9 September.

Two new topics – smoking cessation and pulmonary rehabilitation – will also be added to the adult academy programme. Both academy programmes are based on the HERMES syllabus and are designed for all respiratory professionals wishing to update their knowledge, or for those preparing for the HERMES examinations.

The programme for the adult academy and the programme for the paediatric academy consist of comprehensive lectures, interactive case-based sessions, workshops and Q&A discussion sessions.

Participants wishing to be a part of the paediatric academy programme are invited to submit a clinical case before 31 May, 2023, which will be presented and discussed during a case-based session if selected. Participants preparing for the HERMES examinations may also register for the ERS HERMES self-assessment courses in adult and paediatric respiratory medicine. Early bird discount for the academies is available until 1 May, 2023.
