Clinical Training Fellowships

European Respiratory Society (ERS) Clinical Training Fellowships offer early career clinicians the chance to train at an institution outside of their home country for between 1–6 months. The programme aims to enable fellows to learn skills or procedures that are not available at their home institution, supporting the exchange of knowledge and best practices across institutes.

Clinical Training Fellowship programmes

ERS Standard Clinical Training Fellowship

Funded by ERS, this programme supports clinicians or researchers from European host centres to receive clinical training at institutions in Europe that are outside of their home country.

ERS Clinical Training Fellowship for Scientifically Developing Countries

This ERS funded programme supports applicants who are based in scientifically developing countries (based on World Bank guidance) to conduct projects at an institution in Europe. The programme is also open to residents of European countries where there is a scientific gap, such as where there is limited opportunity to access education or training in the respiratory field, to support fellows to conduct projects in another European country.

ERS/ERN-LUNG Joint Fellowship

Funded by ERS, this programme supports qualified clinicians/healthcare professionals who work in respiratory medical practice, with a specific interest in rare respiratory disease, to receive clinical training at a European institution outside of their home country.
