International Respiratory Coalition

Transforming post-pandemic care for people with chronic respiratory diseases

The aim of the International Respiratory Coalition (IRC) is to promote lung health and improve respiratory care. Our vision is for every country to have the tools to implement a national respiratory strategy based on best practice.

Never has it been more important to prioritise respiratory health and develop or improve national or global strategies. The COVID-19 pandemic was a catalyst for the creation of this Coalition, which aims to support governments and healthcare systems in their recovery from COVID-19 by strengthening respiratory care.” Prof. Guy Joos. Chair of the IRC Steering Committee

“The European Respiratory Society is excited to be a founding member of the International Respiratory Coalition, working to ensure better respiratory care is central to government and healthcare system recovery plans.”  Prof. Marc Humbert, ERS President (2021-22)
