The European Respiratory Society (ERS) is pleased to announce the upcoming launch of the ERS Scientific Award programmes. The award portfolio has been revised to specifically target different career stages of ERS members.
The awards that will be on offer in 2021 are:
Awards for early-career candidates:
ERS Cournand Lecture Award
The Cournand Lecture Award honours a young investigator and commemorates the distinguished French scientist, André Frédéric Cournand, who worked for much of his life in the United States and was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1956 for his pioneering work on the in vivo investigation of the circulation. Awards for mid-career candidates:
ERS Mid-Career Gold Medals
The ERS Mid-Career Gold Medals honour mid-career researchers who have an excellent track record and the potential for further outstanding developments in the specific field of the award. Sponsored awards offer attractive research grants for submitted project proposals and the opportunity to spend a day with the sponsoring company. Find out more
ERS Main Awards
ERS Main Awards offer various amounts of funding to mid-career researchers with an excellent track record who have submitted an outstanding research project in the specific field of the award. Find out more
Awards for senior candidates:
ERS Lifetime Achievement Award
The ERS Lifetime Achievement Award honours a highly regarded senior scientists and established experts in the respiratory field with an international reputation. Members from ERS assemblies 1, 2, 5, 6 and 10 may apply or be nominated. Find out more
