ERS is pleased to announce that members can now apply or nominate colleagues for a range of prestigious ERS Scientific Awards that recognise research excellence across the respiratory field.
The awards on offer for 2022 fall under two categories, ERS Mid-Career Gold Medals and Lifetime Achievement Awards.
The ERS Mid-Career Gold Medals are sponsored awards which offer attractive research grants. They honour mid-career researchers who have an excellent track record and the potential for further outstanding developments in a specific field.
The award fields include allied health professionals; ARDS; asthma; COPD; Clinical Techniques, Imaging and Endoscopy; Cystic Fibrosis; Epidemiology and Environment; NTM science and Medicine; PAH; Respiratory clinical care and physiology. Sponsored awards also offer the opportunity to spend a day with the sponsoring company.
The ERS Lifetime Achievement Awards honour highly regarded senior scientists and established experts in the respiratory field, who have an international reputation.
There are 5 Lifetime Achievement Awards on offer in 2022 and this year the call for applications/nominations is for: Assembly 3 – Basic and translational sciences; Assembly 4 – Sleep Disordered Breathing; Assembly 8 – Thoracic Surgery and Transplantation; Assembly 11 – Thoracic Oncology; Assembly 12 – Interstitial Lung Diseases.
The deadline to apply or nominate a colleague is 14 February, 2022 AT 23:59 CET.
