Part two of the Endobronchial ultrasound training programme includes clinical observations and intensive simulation training. Participants can complete the training in any of the following centres: Amsterdam, Athens, Copenhagen, or Heidelberg.
A session will consist of only two participants. During this training, participants will observe a number of procedures performed by experts in the field at their local endoscopy and bronchoscopy units.
During the simulator training, a participant will perform a complete procedure including introduction of the scope, identification of the six anatomical landmarks in the correct order, checking for enlarged lymph nodes and obtaining two biopsies from one of the stations.
To obtain certification of Part two, participants will be asked to complete a simulator based assessment.
Pre-requisites
Participants must have completed part one of the programme and obtained certification.
Learning outcomes
Following completion of this training programme, participants should be able to:
- Independently assess patient history and results
- Identify indications and contraindications
- Perform independent procedures
- Interpret results and draw conclusions

Cancellation policy
Upon receipt of a written cancellation, a refund of fees, minus €50 administrative fee, will be applied up to 6 weeks before the course. After this date, no refund will be made for cancellations.
Covid-19
Registrants to this course must comply with the COVID-19 related requirements outlined by the course venue or the authorities of the countries they are travelling to/from. All delegates are responsible for ensuring they are up to date on such policies. If a registrant cannot attend due to failure to comply to those requirements, no refund can be provided on this course. Due to third party fees, ERS cannot provide a refund for any cancellation as a result of a positive COVID-19 test.
