ERS raises awareness of lung health issues with politicians to ensure policies are based on science, and works closely with the European Lung Foundation to ensure patient needs are prioritised.

ERS Assemblies are the backbone of ERS. The assemblies, and groups within them, underpin all ERS scientific and educational activities. ERS members choose their assembly and group affiliations based on specialist areas of interest and play a key role within these groups to help set the agenda.
