The European Respiratory Society’s (ERS) long standing e-learning resources now have a new home on the ERS Respiratory Channel. The changes come as part of several improvements being made to the Channel this year – making it the main online resource to access all ERS’s online content.

The recent additions to the Channel include past event replays and associated resources, CME online modules, case reports, short videos and radiology image challenges. These items will now be accessible alongside existing Channel content, which includes the new video series Curbside Consult, The Institute, Coffee Talk, Respiratory Life, Guidelines in Focus, as well as podcasts, webinars and the full catalogue of ERS guidelines.

ERS Education Council Chair Prof. Richard Costello, who has been involved in the development of the Channel, noted the key benefits following this update:

“We recognise that having a central location for all our online resources is incredibly useful to our members and the wider respiratory community – mainly because of ease of use and accessibility. Now, by visiting the Channel, people can see what’s new, browse or search by keyword or topic, access new video and podcast content, view the latest guidelines and a back catalogue of resources and learning tools.

“By signing into the Channel with myERS credentials, which members and non-members can set up, visitors can also save things for later by bookmarking items they want to revisit. In my view, this is a really useful tool for the professional respiratory community; it’s a digital companion of sorts. It’s also a sustainable way to share knowledge – users can get access to the latest thinking and hear about major trends in the specialty, online and at their convenience.

“The Channel will continue to produce and offer a range of content which is completely open access, alongside member/delegate exclusive content.

“Now that the e-learning resources are included as part of the Channel, work is underway to bring some final but very significant developments to the platform – eventually welcoming fully integrated online events. Watch this space.”
