The current covid-19 pandemic poses a significant burden to lung transplant programs in Europe due to practical, logistical, and ethical problems associated with COVID-19 associated respiratory failure. An increasing number of post-COVID-19 ARDS of fibrosis patients is referred as possible lung transplant candidates. The current state-of-the-art concerning indications for lung transplantation in COVID-19, management of organ donation and procurement, COVID-19 infections in lung transplant recipients will be discussed by experts in the field of lung transplantation.
Educational aims
Attendees will gain insights in indication and timing of lung transplantation in COVID-19 associated respiratory failure, best surgical approach, and post-operative management; next to this they will be educated about how the best practice to organize lung donation and allocation in the current pandemic, on medical management of COVID-19 infections in transplant recipients and the latest news regarding the effects of vaccination in these patients.

Format
The lectures will use a real-life case-based approach and multiple-choice questions, accompanied by state of the art scientific knowledge on each topic to formulate best practice recommendations regarding COVID-19 and lung transplantation.

Following the webinar, participants will be able to:
- Better manage any issues related to COVID-19 and lung transplantation (patient selection, surgical procedure, post-transplant management).

An application for accreditation of this webinar has been made to the European Board for Accreditation in Pneumology (EBAP) for 1 CME credit per 1-hour attendance. If accredited, the CME credit will be granted upon attendance of at least 60 minutes during the live webinar only.
