ERS/ATS Joint Task Forces
The ERS/ATS task force call is now closed. The next call for applications will be in July 2025.
ERS methodology:
To ensure the highest quality of its official scientific documents, ERS has adopted a strict methodological process, as described in the ERS Task Force Guidance document.
Task forces developing clinical practice guidelines are required to follow the GRADE approach. ERS members planning to apply for an ERS Clinical Practice Guideline are encouraged to consult the ERS Handbook for Clinical Practice Guidelines, which provides step-by-step guidance. The ERS methodology for task forces developing statements and technical standards is detailed in the task force guidance.
For any questions related to the methodology, Task Force Chairs may contact the in-house methodologists.
Patient involvement:
ERS recognises that the involvement of patients in task forces is valuable, and we work very closely with the European Lung Foundation (ELF) to ensure that patient perspectives are represented in ERS guidelines.
