On 5 May, ERS will join members of the global pulmonary hypertension (PH) community to observe World PH Day.
World PH Day brings global attention to the importance of improving the quality of life and raising the life expectancy of the more than 25 million people living with PH worldwide.
PH is still widely considered to be a rare condition, and is notoriously difficult to recognise clinically; initial symptoms can be easily overlooked, and may lead patients, relatives and physicians to assume that they are simply unfit, commonly leading to a substantial delay of two or more years before diagnosis and initiation of PAH treatment.
As a part of this year’s events, PHA Europe have organised a coordinated thunderclap campaign to increase the reach of awareness activities for PH – you can sign up here to add your support.
To mark World PH Day, ERS is making the ebook of the Pulmonary Hypertension Monograph available to download for free until 22 May. This Monograph provides an in-depth overview of our current understanding of the various forms of pulmonary hypertension, their diagnosis and their treatment. To download your copy, visit the Bookshop, add it to your cart and complete the purchase process as normal.
We have also gathered together a range of e-learning materials to help share knowledge of the condition, in addition to collating a range of selected publications on the topic.
