It provides a platform for the world’s respiratory professionals to connect and to share knowledge and expertise – with the ultimate aim of improving patient care and outcomes.”

This year’s Wednesday special programme will also be expanded to include as many as seven sessions. It will give attendees an opportunity to dive deep into ERS projects and priority initiatives and engage in hot topics high on the ERS agenda, with sessions focused on:
- Advancing gender equity in respiratory medicine;
- Maximising the impact of research project outcomes;
- What can ERN-LUNG offer for the future?
- Primary prevention for healthy lungs;
- Co-design and patient involvement in respiratory innovation;
- An International Respiratory Coalition Networking Breakfast;
- The European Respiratory Society’s sustainability goals.
ERS commitments to sustainability
As part of ERS’s commitment to sustainability, the Society encourages attendees at this year’s ERS Congress to make a donation to climate protection projects as part of their registration form. ERS pledges to make an additional contribution of €5 for every €5 or more donated by a congress attendee.
These projects align with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and can help communities to make important changes which positively impact environmental sustainability and improve access to clean air.
