3 March, 2025
Registration is now open for the 2025 HERMES examinations in adult and paediatric respiratory medicine, which will take place online on 11 October, 2025.
Since their creation in 2008, the internationally-recognised HERMES examinations have served as a standard of knowledge assessment amongst respiratory specialists and trainees within Europe.
The examinations are available in either adult or paediatric respiratory medicine, with three categories available for each format – offering opportunities for respiratory professionals currently in training, in the early stages of their career, or senior respiratory professionals.
All examinations are based on the European syllabi in respiratory medicine and both the adult and paediatric examinations are accredited by the European Board for Accreditation in Pneumology (EBAP), endorsed by the European Union of Medical Specialists and the Council for European Specialist Medical Assessments. They are also approved by the European Academy of Paediatrics. CME credits are available for those who successfully complete them.
In particular, the European Diploma is proof of excellence in the field which demonstrates commitment to life-long learning, can boost your mobility, and enables you to self-assess as a professional.
In preparation for the examinations, HERMES self-assessment courses on both adult and paediatric respiratory medicine will take place online on 20 June.
This course consists of a one-hour online multiple-choice question assessment followed by a two-hour interactive online session discussing the correct answers with two content experts.
