Registration for the 2020 ERS HERMES examinations is now open, offering an opportunity for healthcare professionals of all levels to measure their knowledge and gain international recognition in adult or paediatric respiratory medicine at a European standard.

This year's exams will take place on 5 September, 2020 in Vienna, Austria at the ERS International Congress. Registration to participate will close on 30 June, 2020.

As in previous years, three exam options are on offer in both adult and paediatric formats in 2020 – catering to anyone currently in-training, in the early stages of developing their career or experienced respiratory professionals.

The overarching aim of the ERS HERMES exams is to set a common, high-standard of knowledge amongst respiratory specialists and trainees within Europe. The European Diploma exam option is regarded as a key additional marker of quality, which certifies excellence for respiratory specialists within Europe and around the world.

In 2020 ERS celebrates 10 years since the first ERS HERMES examination in paediatric respiratory medicine, and in 2019, the largest number of participants sat the exam to date.
