A new advocacy-focused podcast, Lung Health Matters, has recently been launched on the ERS Respiratory Channel – adding to the wide range of free-to-access content already available.

The Lung Health Matters podcast series will concentrate on the important work ERS does to advocate for better respiratory health at EU level and beyond. Hosted by members of the ERS Advocacy Council, and other topic experts, the podcast aims to outline current developments or areas of concern within defined policy areas, making clear the ERS position/call to action, what it means for clinicians and the impact on patients.

Episode one, Childhood respiratory care, is hosted by ERS Advocacy Council Chair, Prof. Barbara Hoffmann. Prof. Hoffmann is joined by ERS Past President Prof. Monika Gappa, and paediatric pulmonologist Prof. Marielle Pijnenburg.

In their discussion, the experts speak on the burden of childhood respiratory diseases across Europe, the impact of the environment/climate change on childhood respiratory health and asthma. They also outline recent legislations that have important implications for childhood respiratory health, such as the Ambient Air Quality Directive.

Episodes to follow will feature discussions on a wide range of advocacy-focused topics.
