The European Respiratory Society (ERS) was presented with multiple awards at both the European Association Awards and the Associations World Congress for the development of a range of new scientific and educational activities that launched in 2018.
At the European Association awards, ERS received the Gold prize for Best Provision of Industry Information and Intelligence and Silver in the Innovative Development by an Association categories in recognition of the launch of ERS Satellites.
The ERS Satellites event series is a new and important initiative for ERS that aims to provide high-quality education in both accessible and affordable formats, in which the participating venues and audiences are brought together using the latest live-streaming technology for a comprehensive one-day programme, with expert input from across Europe.
ERS was also awarded Association Project of the Year and Best Event Development for the Game Zone and Lungs on Fire at the Associations World Congress, which are two new educational initiatives that were launched at last year’s ERS Congress in Paris.
Both of these initiatives were extremely popular with congress delegates and were developed through collaboration of the ERS’s education team and the Society’s early career members.
ERS would like to warmly thank and congratulate the staff, officers and members who all contributed to the development and success of these new initiatives.
