ERS calls for applications/nominations for the Early-Career Member Award 2024

The European Respiratory Society (ERS) has announced that ERS members can now apply or nominate fellow members for the ERS Early-Career Members Award.

The Early-Career Members Award is presented annually to a promising early-career member based on their potential for future scientific contribution as well as past and current engagement in the Society.

Early-career members (ECMs) are those members of the Society who are below the age of 40. This award is one of several ways that ERS shines a light on ECMs, who make up 33% of the overall ERS membership.

Discussing the significance of the ECM Award, ERS President Monika Gappa noted:

“ERS recognises the importance of its early-career members (ECM) and all that they contribute. The ECM Award honours the work of these members and acknowledges the potential for further contributions. This award reaffirms ERS’s commitment to nurturing and supporting the future leaders of the respiratory field.”

All ERS members are eligible to nominate a fellow member below the age of 40. ECMs can also put themselves forward for this award by applying. The deadline in both cases is 23:59 on 8 February, 2024.
