The latest CME Online module, Sleep-related breathing disorders – an update for the general respiratory physician, is now available on the ERS Respiratory Channel.

Sleep-related breathing disorders include a group of highly prevalent conditions characterised by respiratory disturbances occurring during sleep. This module, led by Prof. Dries Testelmans, Prof. Dr Joerg Steier and Dr Esther Irene Schwarz, will provide evidence of the effectiveness of treatment with positive airway pressure in OSA/OHS. These experts will review current diagnostic and therapeutic recommendations.

The module will be particularly relevant to pulmonary, respiratory and/or chest physicians, and residents in these fields, as well as respiratory therapists, nurses, and allied specialists.

Following successful completion of the module, participants should expect to have gained the skills and expertise necessary to:

  • Recognise the most important features of OSA/OHS
  • Understand the mechanisms leading to the development of hypercapnia in obesity hypoventilation syndrome
  • Choose the correct diagnostic tools to confirm the diagnosis of OHS
  • Select the appropriate treatment options for OSA/OHS

Take the CME module.
