The Thoracic ultrasound certified training programme is a three-part programme designed to train qualified doctors to independently perform thoracic ultrasound.
This one-and-a-half day course will focus on practical aspects of thoracic ultrasound (TUS) procedures including demonstrations on volunteers, and discussion and interpretation of clinical cases. Each of the six topics will begin with a short overview with selected key elements and pitfalls.
Following the online course, all participants will create a portfolio of ten TUS scans and review five cases from other participants.
- Phase 1: Create a portfolio of 10 TUS scans by 29 January, 2025
- Phase 2: Review five cases from other participants on the shared portal between 5-10 February, 2025
Participants who attend the live online course and complete the post-course requirements will be awarded a certification of completion for part two and will be eligible to proceed to part three of the TUS training programme.
The next Part 3 – OSCE will take place in Copenhagen, on 1 March, 2025. Another OSCE will be planned in September 2025 in Amsterdam at the ERS congress venue.
