CME Online: GP and specialist approaches to severe asthma care

20 January, 2020

A new CME module is now available that focuses on the management of difficult to treat asthma from the general practitioner to specialist referral pathways.

Led by Professors Andrew Menzies-Gow and Ioanna Tsiligianni, the module includes a review of the routine interventions that should be considered before specialist referral and offers guidance on when referral is most appropriate, as well as gives insight on the first steps that are taken by the specialist.

The module features an interactive case simulation, a panel discussion and suggested readings, which will provide participants with:

  • Improved understanding of the management of difficult to treat asthma
  • The capacity to prepare a logical management plan in primary care
  • The skills needed to decide with confidence when to refer to a specialist
  • Knowledge of the first steps taken by specialists

Participants with a myERS account will also be able to take a test on the topic at the end of the module, which is accredited with one CME credit. A CME certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of the CME test.
