Introducing the Associação Respiratória de Língua Portuguesa

The Associação Respiratória de Língua Portuguesa (ARELP) is an international non-profit organisation that aims to promote lung health in Portuguese speaking areas through a partnership of international respiratory societies.

The organisation was founded in 2015 by the European Respiratory Society (ERS), Sociedade Portuguesa de Pneumologia (SPP), Sociedade Brasileira de Pneumologia e Tisiologia (SBPT) and Asociación Latino Americana de Tórax (ALAT), which all work together to share and coordinate their collective knowledge, expertise, and resources.

The mission of the ARELP is to promote lung health through a partnership of international respiratory societies and organizations that share and coordinate their collective knowledge, expertise, and resources in the Portuguese Language Areas.

ARELP will hold their first conference on 3-4 July, 2017 in Maputo, Mozambique.

The programme will focus on the discussion and presentations of the main pulmonary pathologies and diseases: TB, Asthma, COPD and pneumonias linked with HIV, with updates on the therapeutic approaches and research.

The conference attendees will get the opportunity to deepen their knowledge in various areas as well as establish partnerships in different areas of interest and establish contacts for potential joint research projects.
