The latest instalment of the ERS Interactive Education video series is now available to watch on the ERS Respiratory Channel.

‘Updates on the management of tuberculosis’, produced in collaboration with UNITE4TB, aims to address gaps in tuberculosis management through an advanced case-based exploration led by renowned experts in the field.

Tuberculosis (TB) continues to present significant challenges to healthcare systems worldwide, particularly with the rise in multidrug-resistant TB cases and the added complexity of managing co-infections such as HIV. Despite advancements in diagnostic methods and therapeutic regimens, healthcare professionals often face challenges related to rapid diagnosis, effective treatment selection, and patient management in diverse clinical settings. In many regions, resource limitations further complicate the application of best practices, underscoring the need for a cohesive, evidence-based approach to TB management.

The experts – Dr Derek Sloan, Dr Daniela Maria Cirillo and Dr Hanif Esmail – will lead participants through this topic and enable them to:

  1. Enhance diagnostic proficiency.
  2. Optimise treatment strategies.
  3. Manage side effects effectively.
  4. Incorporate a global perspective on TB management.
  5. Advance clinical decision making in complex cases.
