The ERS Interactive Education series is a new free-to-access video-based learning resource – designed to replace CME Online.

Still offering a case-based approach to learning, ERS Interactive Education focuses on specific diseases and conditions by presenting you with a particular case to review. The first video of this new series is ‘Bronchiectasis: state-of-the-art management’.

After completing this first video and assessment, participants should be able to:

  1. Understand the epidemiology and current management of bronchiectasis in Europe.
  2. Investigate the underlying causes of bronchiectasis according to ERS guidelines.
  3. Manage patients with chronic airway infection and prevent exacerbations.

In this new series, the participant is placed in a scenario as if they are managing the case themselves, facing decision-making questions at each stage of the case management pathway. Crucial decision points are highlighted, where the participant must choose appropriate medical actions such as ordering tests or procedures for diagnosis, making a diagnosis, determining a treatment regimen, and planning follow-up strategies.

After submitting their answers, participants will receive immediate feedback from experts within the video. Text-based summaries will be offered after the participant responds to the questions. The decision-making questions within the video act as formative assessments, enhancing participants’ knowledge for similar cases in their daily clinical practice. The questions are designed to prepare participants for the accredited CME test at the end of the video, which requires signing into or creating a free myERS account.

The average video is 30 minutes, and the test consists of five questions, for which participants are given three attempts. There is no set time limit for test completion. Upon successfully completing the test, participants can claim their CME credit via myERS.

Watch the video and take the assessment now.
