CME Online: Air pollution and respiratory health

CME Online: Air pollution and respiratory health - article image

In the latest CME Online module, Professor Thomas Sandström and Dr Ian Mudway consider the ways that environmental factors impact respiratory disease, with particular focus on the harmful effects of air pollution on asthma and COPD.

Through an interactive case simulation and engaging case discussion, participants will learn to:

  • inform patients about how air pollution may impact their condition
  • make patients aware of symptoms, and how peak expiratory flow measurements indicate worsening
  • provide advice for patients about air pollution alert systems
  • inform patients about how to adjust medications and physical activity in high air pollution scenarios

Participants with a myERS account will also be able to take a test on the topic at the end of the module, which is accredited with one CME credit. A CME certificate will be awarded upon successful completion of the CME test.
