“It has been a productive month for ERS as we held one of our three annual Executive Committee meetings in Zurich last week.

“This meeting happens each year to discuss the educational and scientific sessions planned for the ERS International Congress and to provide the latest update on ERS activities throughout the year to the Executive Committee and ERS Assembly members.

“Focusing on a round table discussion held by our Assemblies, the meeting provides an opportunity to accept abstracts for the Congress, assign abstracts to sessions and finalise the programme. We have a lot of new and exciting features planned for this year’s Congress, including new state-of-the-art sessions on major areas in respiratory medicine, the return of our online Congress TV channel, Live@ERS and the second Live Endoscopy session to be held at our Congress.

“The ERS Assemblies and groups within them are the backbone of ERS and help drive us forward to achieving our mission. Each and every one of our members has an intrinsic role within these groups to help set the agenda across all ERS activities. If you are not already part of an Assembly, you can log in to ‘MyERS’ and join one main group and up to two more groups to best suit your professional interest area.

“We hope that readers of our newsletter will be as excited as we are about the upcoming activities this year and I look forward to updating you again on the latest programme we have planned for the ERS International Congress in Milan in the coming months.”
