World Pulmonary Hypertension Day 2017: access our resources - article image

Each year on 5 May, ERS and the global respiratory community observe World Pulmonary Hypertension Day (WPHD), which aims to raise awareness of pulmonary hypertension (PH) as a life-threatening disorder of the lungs and heart.

The focus of respiratory professionals lies in developing the most effective clinical strategies to manage patients living with PH, to ensure that they can enjoy the best quality of life possible.

Continued research is also essential to improving the prospects and lives of PH patients, as surgeries like pulmonary endarterectomy (PEA) provide some promise for potential cures in conditions such as chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH).

To mark World PH Day, ERS is offering a €10 discount on the ERS Monograph on pulmonary hypertension, edited by Marius M. Hoeper and ERJ Chief Editor Marc Humbert. This Monograph provides an in-depth overview of our current understanding of the various forms of pulmonary hypertension, their diagnosis and their treatment. The discount is available until 18 May.

We have also put together a range of e-learning materials to help share knowledge of the condition, in addition to collating a range of selected publications on the topic.
