Each year on 4 February the global community observes World Cancer Day. The event aims to unify international efforts in the fight against cancer and raise the profile of cancer in the world’s media.
The Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) reports that 8.8 million people die from cancer worldwide each year, with an estimated 1.6 million of those due to lung cancer.
As lung cancer remains the leading cause of cancer death worldwide, it continues to be a priority for medical professionals, scientists and researchers working in the respiratory field.
To mark the day, we have gathered a range of resources on the topic of cancer for easy access:
- E-learning materials
- Selected ERS publications
- ELF lung cancer factsheet and info pages
- European Respiratory Review highlights: lung cancer
ERS is also offering a €10 discount on all copies of the ERS Monograph on lung cancer until 18 February, 2018. Head to ersbookshop.com to purchase a copy.
