The European Respiratory Society (ERS) has announced the addition of a virtual school in adult and paediatric respiratory medicine to this year’s calendar of events, taking place from 1-3 July, 2020.

The free event will be an innovative, online experience designed to update healthcare professionals’ knowledge on the major fields of respiratory medicine and offer guidance on how to prepare for the ERS HERMES examinations in adult and paediatric respiratory medicine.

A ‘two-track’ programme will consist of one-hour sessions in adult and paediatric respiratory medicine running in parallel, and will include:

  • Lectures, including interactive polling and open discussion
  • Interactive case-based workshops conducted in small groups
  • Case-based sessions for the paediatric track, with cases submitted by participants

Recordings of each session will be made available after the event.

Participants will also have the opportunity to register for a Q&A extension in either adult or paediatric respiratory medicine which will take place on 3 July, 2020 at a cost of €50.

Consisting of a one-hour mock examination with high-quality questions in either adult or paediatric respiratory medicine followed by a two-hour discussion with ERS experts, the Q&A extension together with the virtual school is an excellent opportunity to prepare for this year’s HERMES examination. Please note that the Q&A extensions will not be recorded.

The virtual school has a limited number of places available, so register soon to avoid disappointment.
