The European Respiratory Society (ERS) is delighted to announce the results of this year’s ERS Leadership Elections.
After several months of voting, positions have now been filled for ERS Vice President, Advocacy Council Chair, Education Council Chair, and Publications Committee.
The successful candidates are:
ERS Vice President: Prof. Arzu Yorgancıoğlu
Arzu will fulfil the roles of ERS Vice President, ERS President Elect, ERS President and Past President over a four-year term.
Speaking about her upcoming role as ERS Vice President, Prof. Arzu Yorgancıoğlu said: “As ERS Vice President, I am eager to bring my experience, dedication, and vision to this role. My goal is clear: to advance ERS as the leading force in respiratory health, strengthening its global impact through research, advocacy, and collaboration.
“As a female academic hailing from the eastern Mediterranean, I aspire to bring further diversity to the esteemed team at ERS with a particular focus on advancing respiratory health initiatives. This responsibility extends beyond individuals to the planet itself. The ‘One Health’ approach – recognising the deep interconnections between human health, animal health, and environmental sustainability – must guide our strategies. By integrating this holistic perspective with scientific advancements, we can develop policies that protect not just patients, but entire ecosystems.”
