COVID-19 and respiratory disease care: WHO Europe/ERS case studies

COVID-19 and respiratory disease care: WHO Europe/ERS case studies - article image

The World Health Organization (WHO) Europe has published two new case studies looking at the response to respiratory disease patients’ care during the COVID-19 pandemic by respiratory health services in the United Kingdom and Belgium.

The two case studies, which were co-funded and technically support by ERS, are part of a larger series by WHO Europe which shares experiences of noncommunicable disease care during the pandemic, to shine a light on the challenges and opportunities faced in countries, and document the innovative solutions used to overcome them.

The case studies include interviews with the ERS President Prof. Anita Simonds and ERS Past President Prof. Guy Joos, who provide insights in to how the pandemic affected their clinical practice, and the ways that patient care was delivered in their hospitals.
