8 researchers have been awarded the European Respiratory Society (ERS)/EU RESPIRE2 Post-doctoral Research Fellowship following the 3rd and final call for applications.

Following a competitive evaluation process, the 8 researchers who come from various disciplines, have already commenced their two-year fellowship, which aims to boost scientific networks in Europe in the field of respiratory medicine.

The successful 8 join 16 other RESPIRE2 researchers selected through the first two calls, two of which are featured on ERS/EU case-studies.

We would like to offer our congratulations to the successful researchers and wish them well on their journey to becoming future leaders in respiratory research.

We are also pleased to announce that ERS was awarded co-funding through the European Union’s Horizon 2020 towards a new RESPIRE3 programme. ERS will therefore continue to offer opportunities to become Marie Skłodowska-Curie fellows, but with additional flexibility and options through European and Global RESPIRE3 fellowships.

While the 1st call for RESPIRE3 Fellowship applicants will officially open this autumn, the application process for host institutions to be pre-registered for RESPIRE3 will be launched around mid-July 2016. Host centres already pre-registered for RESPIRE2 will benefit from a fact-track procedure, while new centres, within and outside of Europe, will also be able to apply.
