We are pleased to announce that the ERS Fellowship in Industry programme has been renewed – once again offering a unique opportunity to gain experience in the respiratory pharmaceutical industry in Europe.
This fellowship aims to utilise the successful candidate’s experience in an academic or hospital setting and apply this to the clinical trials cycle, to provide medical and scientific input which is more patient centric. Additionally, candidates will gain experience of working in the pharmaceutical environment, picking up transferable skills to enhance their future career.
Current Fellowship recipient, Dr Stefan Frent, described his experience of this opportunity: "By performing monitoring and review of the clinical trial data, I was able to combine my experience as a clinician and former investigator in clinical trials with the ability to understand and address specific issues from investigative sites, as well as to get a good perspective of what it means to conduct a global trial and ensure patients’ safety at all times during their participation in a clinical research project."
Two 12-month fellowships supported by Novartis and based at the Novartis Campus in Basel, Switzerland, are now open for applications.
Open to early-career respiratory MD (with or without a PhD) specialised in respiratory medicine (clinical immunology, asthma, COPD and cystic fibrosis preferably) with two years of clinical research experience as an investigator or co-investigator.
