Ministers of Health, Ministers of Environment, and other high level representatives of more than 20 countries, signed the Marrakesh Ministerial Declaration on Health, Environment and Climate Change at the recent UN Climate Change negotiations in Morocco.

The Declaration aims to reduce the annual 12.6 million deaths caused by environmental pollution, including the estimated 6.5 million deaths a year attributable to air pollution, via a new global initiative to promote better management of environmental and climate risks to health.

Individuals and organisations now have the chance to sign and show support for better management of environmental and climate risks to health. The ERS Environment and Health Committee encourages all members to support the initiative.
