Following an extension to the abstract submission deadline (new deadline 19 March), Prof. Amy Chan from the Respiratory Impact Conference Organising Committee, explains why this event is an excellent opportunity to showcase research – offering something distinct through its focus on turning evidence into real-world impact.
This isn’t just another scientific meeting
“The Respiratory Impact Conference is a unique, action‑oriented conference, not just another scientific meeting. Rather than focus mainly on presenting research findings, this one is explicitly dedicated to turning evidence into real‑world impact,” explains Prof. Chan.
“The conference theme, ‘Policy to action for respiratory health,’ signals that it bridges science, clinical practice, policy, and implementation.”
Why is this a valuable platform to showcase research?
According to Prof. Chan, the appeal of this Conference is a result of its inclusivity and its attention to making things happen in a practical sense and through essential collaboration.
“The programme is designed around practical implementation, equity, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Researchers will get a chance to showcase in a setting where people actively want to use it in practice: policymakers, clinicians, educators, and system leaders.
“In addition to this, abstracts will get high visibility and fuel meaningful discussion with people who can accelerate ideas. Researchers can connect with people who influence implementation.”
Abstracts will be seen, discussed, and you’ll get to engage with people who can help implement your ideas in practice
Prof. Chan also notes how the programme and delivery of it have been very carefully considered – ensuring that this is a platform to support the topics and level of engagement needed between researchers and other participants to ensure everyone gets the most out of it.
“The programme we have put together is highly interactive and designed for skill‑building, not passive listening. The programme includes symposia, panel discussions, workshops, table exercises, and oral discussions with a strong focus on interactive exchange.
“For researchers, if your work involves implementation science, digital health, equity, population health, or health‑system change, this is an ideal platform to present your research – compared to more traditional conferences that focus on bench‑to‑bedside science.”
The final abstract submission deadline is 19 March, 2026. Visit the web page for more information and submit your research.
