The European Respiratory Society (ERS) is pleased to primary care activity highlights from the ERS Congress programme.

Primary care is central to any healthcare system and primary care practitioners play a key role in the delivery of respiratory care, with respiratory symptoms being the most common reason for primary care consultations.

This year’s event will offer dedicated primary care sessions as well as a number of sessions focusing on topics of relevance to the primary care community, provide updates and new perspectives on a variety of topics.

As well as ERS’s own recommendations, Hilary Pinnock, Head of the General Pneumology Assembly, gave her thoughts on what makes the ERS Congress unique for primary care practitioners, what they can expect to gain from taking part, and what the popular topics will be for those in this professional speciality.
