Open calls for EU research project funding and how ERS/ELF can partner

There are several open calls for applications for European Union (EU) research project funding currently available.

EU research funding can support projects across the respiratory field – focusing in on unmet medical and societal needs. Projects address different aspects in the translational process and how observations in the clinic, laboratory or community turns into interventions that improve the health of individuals and the public.

Alongside encouraging ERS members to apply for this funding, ERS and the European Lung Foundation also welcome invitations to partner on such projects for the purposes of stakeholder engagement or leading on communications and dissemination.

Current open calls for funding: 

• Multisectoral approach to tackle chronic non-communicable diseases: implementation research maximising collaboration and coordination with sectors and in settings beyond the healthcare system (GACD)

• Building public trust and outreach in the life sciences 

• Advancing research on the prevention, diagnosis, and management of post-infection long-term conditions

• Towards a better understanding and anticipation of the impacts of climate change on health

• Scaling up innovation in cardiovascular health
