Following the success of the 18th Lung Science Conference (LSC), which took place in Estoril, Portugal from 5–8 March, 2020, ERS is pleased to share online learning resources from the conference with ERS members.

A comprehensive programme was delivered in line with this year’s theme, ‘Metabolic alterations in lung ageing and disease’, and early years researchers enjoyed access to a supportive mentorship programme including special early career sessions.

ERS members can now access abstracts and key presentations from the conference, showcasing research and data from the forefront of basic and translational respiratory science.

We are delighted to use this opportunity to congratulate the winners of the following awards, which were presented at the conference:

  • William MacNee Award: Patricia Ogger (United Kingdom) – Young Investigator session
  • Geoffrey Laurent Award: Renata Jurkowska (Germany) – Best oral presentation
  • Distinguished Poster Awards: Anne-Sophie Lamort (Germany), Julia Frankenberg Garcia (United Kingdom), Johnatas Silva (United Kingdom), Pauline Esteves (France), Claudio Bussi (United Kingdom), Elodie Picard (France), Felix Ritzmann (Germany), Alen Faiz (Australia)

ERS thanks everyone who contributed to the meeting by submitting abstracts, attending and engaging with colleagues throughout the conference.
