The latest instalment of new educational video series, ERS Interactive Education, is now available on the ERS Respiratory Channel.

This interactive video on ‘The challenges of diagnosing ILD’, is the second video of the series which has replaced CME Online. It is presented by three experts in the field – Dr Antoine Froidure, Dr Pilar Rivera-Ortega and Dr Helmut Prosch.

This Interactive Education episode aims to improve the diagnostic skills of healthcare professionals, particularly in recognising and differentiating various ILD patterns on imaging, understanding the role of genetic testing, and integrating clinical, radiological, and pathological data for accurate diagnosis. This content is vital for ensuring timely and appropriate management of ILD patients, reducing misdiagnosis, and improving patient outcomes.

By the end of the video participants should be able to:

  • Enhance diagnostic accuracy: improve their ability to interpret chest x-rays and HRCT patterns associated with ILDs.
  • Understand the role of multidisciplinary discussions: recognise the importance of integrating radiological findings with clinical and genetic data in ILD diagnosis.
  • Explore genetic predispositions: gain insights into the relevance of genetic testing in ILD and how it influences patient management.
  • Improve patient management: learn to apply current guidelines and recommendations in the workup and treatment of ILD patients, especially in cases with familial predispositions.

This episode is highly relevant to respiratory experts, professionals seeking to deepen their understanding of ILDs, and medical students alike.
