Hear from previous ERS Gold Medal recipients

The ERS Gold Medal Awards are amongst the most prestigious awards presented at the annual ERS International Congress. They commenced in 2015 and to date have been awarded to recognise excellence in the research fields of asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and interstitial lung disease (ILD). New to the 2017 awards is the ERS Gold Medal in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).

Alongside the recognition of excellence in these respiratory medicine fields, these awards also carry with them €50,000 research grants, with support from industry sponsors.

The list of awardees to date is a distinguished one, and we caught up with some of the past recipients to find out more about what receiving these awards meant for them.
