ERS HERMES examination in adult respiratory medicine-Kolkata 2019

The Indian Chest Society (ICS) will deliver the inaugural ERS HERMES examination in adult respiratory medicine outside of Congress in Kolkata 2019. Participants can register for the European diploma and upon successful completion, will receive a diploma in adult respiratory medicine and join our established group of ERS HERMES diplomates. Registrations for the examination are now open. The examination will take place at Biswa Bangla Convention Centre

Registration steps

  1. Check your eligibility and prepare all necessary documentation for your examination category. Only respiratory specialists who are members of ERS/ICS and are practicing/studying in India and its neighbouring countries can attend the ERS HERMES exam in Kolkata 2019. Note: Each electronic document must be in pdf, jpg, doc, or docx, and be no more than 2MB in size.

  2. Register online through your myERS profile. You will receive a confirmation email shortly after you have completed your online application.

  3. Your registration will be processed within 14 days. If your application has not been approved, you will be contacted by the ERS HERMES examination team via email.

  4. Payment for the examination can be made once you have been instructed to by ERS. Please do not make payment until you have received instructions to do so. Payment for the examination can be made here.

  5. Payment for the Preparatory Course (13-14.09.2019) and Hermes Examination (08.12.2019) in India can be made here Please do not make payment until you have received instructions to do so.

  6. Registrations will close 6 weeks before the examination date on 27 November 2019.

**Please note that applicants can only take one adult HERMES exam in 2019 at ERS Congress on 28 September in Madrid, Spain or with ICS on 08 December in Kolkata 2019.

Examination format

The examination has the same format as the examination delivered during the annual ERS International Congress. The 3-hour-long written examination is composed of 90 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) in English. The MCQs are selected from the examination blueprint and are designed around the consensus-based European Syllabus in respiratory medicine.
