Deliver a training programme in your country

To deliver an accredited ERS Spirometry training programme, a programme organiser will need to be identified. Programme organisers are responsible to deliver the entire spirometry training programme.

Important: we request that trainers submit the completed applications at least 6 months before delivering Part 1 of the training programme. There are two deadlines set for receiving applications: 31 December and 30 June

As a programme organiser, you will need to fulfil the following criteria:

Experience

  • have a certified degree in respiratory physiology or a related field
  • experience in procedures and instrumentation for spirometry testing
  • experience in interpretation of spirometry
  • at least 5 years’ experience in the supervision of a pulmonary function laboratory or extensive spirometry service

Once a programme organiser has been identified, the following actions need to be taken:

Once approved to run a training programme, you will receive:

  • a set of guidelines for running the programme
  • standardised educational materials for trainers including presentations, videos and other resources
  • a link to supporting educational tools for trainers and participants, and assessment information including an online knowledge test and guidelines for practical assessment
