During the ERS General Assembly meeting, which was held virtually on 10 September, 2020, several changes to the ERS Assemblies and Groups were approved by ERS members and senior leaders.
The full list of changes are as follows:
*Assembly 1 *
- The assembly has been renamed from ‘General Pneumology’ to ‘Respiratory clinical care and physiology’.
- Group 01.05 ‘Clinical respiratory physiology, exercise and functional imaging’ has been created.
*Assembly 4 *
- The assembly has been renamed from ‘Sleep and Breathing disorders; and clinical physiology’ to ‘Sleep Disordered Breathing’.
- Group 04.01 ‘Clinical respiratory physiology, exercise and functional imaging’ has been moved to Assembly 1 and is now Group 01.05.
- Group 04.02 ‘Sleep and Control of Breathing’ has changed to Group 04.01.
*Assembly 5 *
- The assembly has been renamed from ‘Airway Diseases, Asthma and COPD’ to ‘Airway Diseases, Asthma, COPD and Chronic Cough’.
*Assembly 6 *
- Group 06.04 ‘Genes and environment’ has been dissolved.
*Assembly 7 *
- Group 07.03 has been renamed from ‘Cystic Fibrosis’ to ‘Paediatric Cystic Fibrosis (CF)’.
- Group 07.08 has been renamed from ‘Lung and airway developmental biology’ to ‘Paediatric lung cell and molecular biology’.
*Assembly 9 *
- Group 09.04 ‘Psychologists & Behavioural Scientists’ has been created.
*Assembly 10 *
- Group 10.01 has been renamed to ‘Respiratory Infections and Bronchiectasis’.
- Group 10.02 has been renamed to ‘Tuberculosis and Non-Tuberculous mycobacterial diseases’.
- Group 10.03 ‘Adult CF’ has been created.
*Assembly 13 *
- Group 13.03 ‘Right ventricle’ has been dissolved.
