Marie Curie Post-doctoral Research Fellowships (RESPIRE 2)
This project has received funding from the European Union's Seventh Framework Programme for research, technological development and demonstration under grant agreement no PCOFUNDGA-2012-600368
IMPORTANT NOTE: Calls for applications under RESPIRE2 are now closed. However, a new RESPIRE3 fellowship programme is now available!
In 2012 the ERS' RESPIRE2 Fellowship programme was selected to receive co-funding by the EU (under FP7 Marie Curie Actions COFUND), following a competitive evaluation process, in order to offer opportunities in the broad field of respiratory science and promote scientific excellence. RESPIRE2 stands for "REspiratory Science Promoted by International Research Exchanges 2". It builds and expands on the previous EU co-funded programme, RESPIRE1, and its evaluation.
RESPIRE2's objectives are: to support the most talented scientists to strenghten the respiratory specialty, to increase trasnational mobility by enabling access to some of Europe's top centres, to enhance career development and scientific networks as well as to offer attractive post-doctoral funding and excellent working conditions.
Under RESPIRE2 three calls for applications have been delivered during the period 2013-2015, as per Grant Agreement with the EU, although the programme will formally end in June 2018 when all fellowships will be completed. Through a competitive evaluation process, 22 fellows with the potential to become the leaders of tomorrow in respiratory science have started their advanced research projects (24 months) in the area of respiratory medicine and science.
