West of Lisbon, where the Tagus estuary opens into the ocean, lies the Costa do Estoril – the “Portuguese Riviera”. Close enough to the capital to be easily accessible, the towns of Estoril and Cascais boast all the facilities the modern traveler could wish for in a beautiful natural setting.
With its long tradition of hospitality, the Costa do Estoril is home to some of Portugal’s best hotels and restaurants, which are renowned for their freshly caught, beautifully prepared seafood.
Lisbon is a short flight away from most European cities and 6/8 hours from North America. Lisbon International Airport (approximately 20km from Estoril) has daily flights to and from many major cities around the world. In addition to the Portuguese airlines, all the major international carriers fly to and from Lisbon.
There are two taxi stands within the perimeter of the airport: one at the arrivals , the other at departures. If you decide to take a taxi, we suggest that you ask the driver in advance about the fare.
The fare on the taxi meter should read €3.25 (day-time pick-up) or €3.90 (night-time pick-up). Outside the city limits, the fare is calculated based on the number of kilometers travelled and the established price per kilometer. Luggage carries a surcharge of €1.60.
There is a direct train from Cais do Sodré Train Station to Estoril City.
To get to Cais do Sodré Train Station, either take a taxi or catch the AEROBUS 1, which runs every 20 minutes from 07:00 to 23:00 local time.
