Abstract and case submission

The call for abstract/case submissions for the ERS Adult Cystic Fibrosis Conference 2023 is now open.

Why submit an abstract or case?

The aim of the Cystic Fibrosis Conference is to support the exchange of knowledge amongst the international scientific community. Writing an abstract for this conference is an important way for you to communicate your scientific research or clinical practice with your peers. Submitting a clinical case is also very valuable as an educational resource, which strongly supports our offering of case-based sessions.

SUBMIT AN ABSTRACT

The call for abstracts is open until Thursday, 28 September 2023 at 23:59 CEST 

Online submission

You can submit your abstract via myERS. If you do not already have an account, you will be required to create one.

Once signed in, you should select the “ABSTRACTS/CASES” tab and select “Cystic Fibrosis Conference”.

Before you submit an abstract, please read the instructions on how to write a good abstract and the submission guidelines. Further details are available on the submission platform.

A maximum of three abstracts may be submitted by the same author.

Accepted abstracts will be published in the ERJ Open Research.

Bursaries 

Up to three free registrations will be given to the authors of the best abstracts (based on the reviewing of experts). Please note that the author must be an ERS member and aged under 40 years old.

Programme allocation 

The CF Programme Committee will allocate successful abstracts to Oral Presentation sessions.

Deadlines and notification of selection 

Timeline:

  • Submission deadline: Thursday, September 28 2023 at 23:59 CEST
  • Abstract status notification: Early October 2023
  • Scheduling of presentations and instructions: mid-late October 2023

SUBMIT A CLINICAL CASE

The call for clinical case is open until Thursday, 28 September 2023 at 23:59 CEST

Get involved in the programme 

If you submit a clinical case, your work could be selected to be presented in a case-based session at the Cystic Fibrosis Conference.

Clinical cases are a detailed reports of the symptoms, signs, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of an individual patient. Clinical cases may contain a demographic profile of the patient, but usually describe an unusual or novel occurrence.

Once signed in, you should select the “ABSTRACTS/CASES” tab and select “Cystic Fibrosis Conference”.

Before you submit a clinical case, please read the instructions on how to write a good clinical case and the case submission guidelines and instructions. Further details are available on the submission platform.

You may submit up to three cases covering the following diseases:

  • Airway diseases
  • Paediatric respiratory diseases
  • Respiratory infections

When preparing your case for submission, please structure it using the following sections:

  1. Case history
  2. Investigations
  3. Results and treatment
  4. Conclusions and points for discussion
