Panel discussion: Targeted immunomodulation in airway epithelium to treat pneumonia

There is an increased need to address new therapeutic avenues to treat pneumonia caused by infectious agents that no longer respond to standard of care therapies alone (e.g. antibiotics).  This webinar  discussed the concept of targeted immunomodulation as a means to treat pneumonia, with focus on Toll-Like Receptor agonists and aerosol delivery.

Educational aims

The audience can gain a better understanding of immunomodulation and targeted therapies for pneumonia.

  • Pneumonia
  • Immunomodulation
  • TLRs
  • Nebulization/aerosol therapy

Expert presentations and a Q&A session.

Learning outcomes

Following this webinar, participants will be able to:

  • Define immunomodulation
  • Describe the use of immunomodulation in the treatment of pneumonia
  • List targeted delivery methods for immunomodulators
