IGRAs and other TB infection tests

The END TB strategy proposed by the WHO has the aim of TB eradication. Countries at low TB burden are called for action in order to properly address it acting at both levels, to promptly diagnose and cure active TB and to diagnose subjects with latent TB infection (LTBI). In particular, after LTBI diagnosis it is important to perform preventive therapy in subjects at risk to develop active TB as recent contacts of active TB cases, HIV-infected individuals, candidates to biological therapies, recent migrants.
