“The ERS Fellowship in Guideline Methodology is a fantastic opportunity for clinicians and researchers interested in evidence-based medicine and guidelines methodology. Working with experienced methodologists and guideline developers, inspiring and friendly mentors who were (and still are) very keen to involve me in their projects, honed my critical thinking, knowledge and experience in research methodology, boosted my career opportunities and international network and led to a number of good quality publications. What is more, I was able to get involved in the ERS Guidelines Working Group and to contribute to the development of one of the ERS Guidelines.”

“Evidence-based medicine should be at the core of clinical practice in the 21st century, and evidence-based clinical practice guidelines are very important to support optimal healthcare. The ERS Fellowship on Guideline Methodology provided me with great “hands-on” training in systematic reviews and GRADE at Cochrane Iberoamerica, and with the opportunity to observe several steps of guideline development at the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence in Manchester. With the knowledge I gained during the fellowship I can synthesize the available evidence and help make recommendations for improved respiratory care.”
