Special features of the ERS Lung Science Conferences
The ERS Lung Science Conference is at the forefront of basic and translational respiratory science and it is an essential event for budding respiratory researchers looking to boost their career. It offers a unique opportunity to network with peers from across the globe and will present cutting-edge abstracts on novel experimental lung research. The following features are organised every year:
3 competitions will be organised throughout the Conference:
- The William MacNee Award - Young Investigator Session : for young presenters (40 years old or less at the time of the Conference) who submitted an outstanding abstract
- The Geoffrey Laurent Award - Best Oral presentation
- The Distinguished Poster Awards
Each abstract author who receives a bursary is appointed a mentor. Together, they can discuss both scientific and career questions during a dedicated mentorship lunch on the first day of the Conference.
Early Career session
A special session for the LSC Early Career delegates is organised every year, for the Saturday afternoon of the Conference.

Open positions advertisement
A board will be at your disposal during the Conference for you to display and advertise any open PHD/ post-doc positions. Therefore we highly encourage you to print out your flyers beforehand in order to put them up for all participants to see.
Earn CME credits
The Lung Science Conference 2020 is granted with 13 CME credits by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) and by European Board for Accreditation in Pneumology (EBAP).
The amount of credits you can receive will correspond to your attendance. Note that you will need to sign the attendance list on site to ensure that you receive the CME credits.
ERS Research Seminar
The new ERS Research Seminar "The Human Lung Cell Atlas: charting the cellular landscape of the lung in health and disease" will take place in Estoril following the LSC 2020. Admittance to this seminar is upon selection only due to the limited number of places available. If you are interested in participation complete the online registration form by the deadline Friday, 3 January 2020.
