Online versus in person: what to expect from the first hybrid ERS Congress

We are extremely happy to be welcoming back in-person sessions and activities for this year’s ERS Congress and we cannot wait to see colleagues face to face in Barcelona. However, we will be using the vast experience we have had in recent years to ensure a high-quality online option is available to those who cannot or do not want to attend in person. We are therefore pleased to present our first official hybrid ERS Congress. Here’s what to expect:

Shared features:

Regardless of whether you attend in person or online, you will have access to:

  • Pre-congress content until the end of the year. This includes:
    • E-posters with a voice over​
    • Professional development sessions​
    • Statements and technical standards​
    • Year in review
    • CRC presentations
  • Recordings of all Congress sessions until the end of the year.
  • CME accreditation opportunities.
  • The online platform

Exclusively available to in-person attendees:

  • Access to all sessions as they happen, live and in person (including any live question and answer sessions)
  • Network with colleagues old and new between sessions
  • Register for in person skills workshops
  • Attend thematic poster sessions
  • Visit the exhibition, bookshop, ERS and ELF stands onsite

Access to all online content/features available to online delegates (as it is listed below)

What’s available to online delegates:

  • Online access to the full programme (made up of recordings and live streamed sessions):
    • Five main sessions rooms will transmit live sessions
    • Recordings of all sessions will be available a maximum 24 hours after the session ends.
    • Watch the live activities taking place in the ‘ERS studio’
  • Use the platform to ask questions, message one on one, and vote during sessions (where specified).
